Job Description of a Meeting Manager


In every corporate event, corporate retreat or business gathering, there is a person working behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly and goes according to plan. He works in liaison with the speakers and technical team to ensure that the sessions run according to the schedule and everything goes smoothly.

An MBA in project management or even a doctorate in business administration or business management is an added advantage.

He should also work well under the immense pressure that arises when tight deadlines have to be met while dealing with a variety of issues. He should have good financial skills, as he will be required to come up with budgets and keep financial records to ensure that he does not run out of budgeted money for an event. Some business meetings have people coming from various countries, so it is advisable for a meeting manager to know at least one foreign language.
