Pop up RV Camping in Georgia
Georgia has hundreds of RV campgrounds near almost every city and outdoor recreation center in the state. All state, national park and Corps of Engineers campgrounds offer electrical and water hookups and dump stations, restrooms and recreation opportunities. Most Sites are wide enough for pop ups, even those with extensions.
In North Georgia, hiking, mountain biking and whitewater rafting are the favorite pastimes. Middle Georgia's best activities center around golf, fishing, boating and water sports. Coastal Georgia's scenic parks feature freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities, beaches, water sports and cultural centers.

Georgia's state park system offers more than 2,700 campsites in 41 parks from the mountains to the coast. RV sites are pull-through. Rates average less than $30 per night as of July 2010. RV sites have electrical and water hookups. Most state parks have laundry facilities and sell camping supplies. Travelers who enjoy a challenge can join one of the special activities clubs at Georgia State Parks. Hikers, bikers, paddlers and geocachers have their own clubs and challenges. These multi-park challenges require participants to complete tasks at each of the parks to win a T-shirt or certificate. Clubs include the Canyon Climbers Club, Muddy Spokes Club, Park Paddlers Club and Geocaching.
Georgia State Parks recently introduced its mobile website system at GeorgiaStateParks.mobi so travelers can browse park offerings and make camping reservations on the fly.

If you have never experienced concierge service at an RV park, Pine Mountain RV Park is for you. Pine Mountain is close to the beaches and biking trails of Callaway Gardens resort. Warm Springs and Franklin D. Roosevelt's Little White House are close by, and the RV park is an easy drive from Atlanta or or Columbus. Concrete and pull-through RV sites have 50 amp service, cable and water hookups. A community lodge has a convenience store, fast food and a coffee, beer and wine bar. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, and guests can use the game room and fitness center and the saltwater swimming pool. Visit the activities pavilion, rent a bike, take the kids to the playground and the dogs to the Bark Park off-leash playground.

Coastal Georgia has a plethora of RV campgrounds. In Glynn County, near Brunswick, the Blythe Island Regional Park is owned and operated by local government authority. Constructed on a large lake, the park has sewer, water and electrical hookups, cable TV and a dump station on the grounds. Fish, canoe and kayak on the lake. Bring your own or rent boats and kayaks at the park office. You can park your boat at the marina for free while you camp. Blythe Park is close to Jekyll Island and St. Simon's Island where you will find plenty of opportunities for golf, saltwater and freshwater fishing, water skiing and boating. Miles of pristine beaches are open to the public for swimming and sunbathing. Once the playground of the mega-rich, the Golden Isles is rife with arts and cultural events, restaurants and playgrounds.

Enota Mountain Retreat

If you want to find an unspoiled, remote campground, you should enjoy Enota Mountain Retreat. Located 14 miles from Helen, Ga., this conservation and educational facility in the Chattahoochee National Forest emphasizes living and working with the land rather than simply using the land. Pop-up campsites have electrical, water and sewer hookup, a wooden deck, picnic table and grill. There is a handicapped-accessible bath house. Pets are allowed, with a small fee.
The property has waterfalls and streams for hiking, biking and fishing. Hikers can connect to the Appalachian Trail from the trail at the retreat. Trout are plentiful in the stocked pond, and are catch-and-keep. Jump on the in-ground trampolines, play horseshoes or volleyball in the common area. Children can feed the farm's livestock by hand or help milk the cows and collect fresh eggs. A spa offers massage and aromatherapy. Tour the hydroelectric plant or the organic garden, take the weekend hayride and attend the bonfire to roast marshmallows.

The campground has 431 campsites including 202 with full water, electric and sewer hookups for RVs and 191 water and electric only sites that are also suitable for pop-up campers. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring and grill and is close to heated comfort stations and laundry facilities. The park has 24-hour security and fire protection.
