Gold Coast Business Trade Shows
Several business trade shows are arranged in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia every year. The city has several large hotels which have several conference facilities, and an exhibition center, which opened in 2006.
The shows focus mostly on the outdoor, fashion, gaming and hospitality industries. The trade show participants are mostly Australian.

Gold Coast City is situated in the southeast corner of Queensland, to the south of Brisbane, the state capital. The city has 57 kilometers (35 miles) of beaches, with some of the most popular surf breaks in Australia and the world.
Gold Coast City has grown from a small beach holiday destination to the sixth largest city in Australia since it was officially incorporated in 1958. Average temperatures are between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Trade Show Venues

The main trade show venue is the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, which opened on June 29, 2004. It has exhibition halls and meeting halls for up to 6,000 persons.
The center is built to provide wireless Internet access anywhere in the building.
The downturn in the hospitality industry has also affected the Gold Coast, with fewer events arranged in 2010 than 2009.

In 2010, several business trade shows were arranged in the Gold Coast. Most of them will also be arranged in 2011. Business trade shows arranged in 2010 were:

Conferences

The Gold Coast is also a venue for professional conferences. Conferences held in 2009 and 2010 were the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition, Bioenergy Australia, the Composites Australia and the Composites CRC Annual Conference & Trade Show.
Conferences tend to be focused on lectures and seminars rather than exhibitions. Most have an associated exhibition, however.
Accomodation

The Gold Coast has several large hotels that all have conference facilities, for instance, the Jupiter Gold Coast casino, which can seat up to 2,300 persons. Most of the international hotel chains, such as Marriott, Hyatt, Sofitel, Radisson, and Crowne Plaza. Since Queensland licenses casinos, many of the trade show venues are also casinos, with associated entertainment and gambling venues.
