What Is Under Armour Cold Gear?

Under Armour is a hit craze in the world's athletic community. It started with an advanced T-shirt design that has exploded into a full-fledged sports apparel company that sells a variety of gear. Under Armour has expanded its line of wears to include temperature-specific shirts, such as the ColdGear line of clothing. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Under Armour

    • Under Armour began in 1996 when Kevin Plank, a former University of Maryland football player, set out to make a shirt that would compress your skin and muscles while taking the sweat off of your body instead of letting the skin reabsorb it. The shirt also helps regulate body temperature.

    ColdGear Uses

    • ColdGear is a new type of Under Armour clothing that is specifically designed for use in temperatures at or below 55 F. ColdGear is designed with a double-sided fabric that keeps moisture off the skin and helps to keep heat inside it. It allows athletes to stay warm in cold temperatures without weighing them down with bulky clothes.

    ColdGear Products

    • ColdGear is designed in two different styles, one for men and the other for women. They each come in a variety of sizes, ranging from small to an XXXL. ColdGear bases its sizes on the circumference of the wearers chest and waist, using a sizing chart to compare your measurements in either inches or centimeters to the size of shirt you will need.

    Other Products

    • Under Armour offers a wide range of other products, ranging from shirts and shorts to underwear and shoes. Another Under Armour specially designed product is the Heat Gear. Heat Gear is specially designed to keep athletes cool while performing in extremely hot temperatures.

    Making Under Armour

    • The majority of Under Armour's special textiles are created in third-party factories. In 2006, the majority of these third-parties were located in Asia, Central America, Mexico and South America. All of the manufacturers are inspected by an Under Armour quality assurance team for quality, social compliance and financial stability.
