Most professionals have a one or two year degree in esthetic skin care, cosmetology or other similar studies. After completing studies, she should be ready to pass an exam to receive a state license to practice the care of skin. The average yearly income for a skin care specialist starts at around $23,300 and can be as high as $50,000. The amount of experience and training a person has will affect how much they can earn annually. A person with one year of experience can hope to earn as much as $40,000, but having 10 or 15 years experience can bring in $50,000 potentially.
