Braun 9595 Vs. 8995
The Braun 9595 shaver, or 790cc Pulsonic, is part of the 7-series product line while the Braun 8995 shaver is a 5-series product. Both are manufactured as premiere-level electric shavers that are designed to deliver a clean, comfortable facial shave. Theoretically, Braun's intent is to deliver the quality of a straight-edge razor shave with the comfort of a less-irritating electric shaver. Both have all but one feature in common, and the Braun 9595 is more expensive. Does this Spark an idea?

Features
-
The 5-series Braun 9895 does not have the new oscillating head technology. According to the Braun website, both models feature the Clean&Renew™ System, comfort blades, a contour-hugging head, the power comb technology, a 3-stage cutting system, a sensitive flexing head and a precision shaver head. However, the Braun 9595 is the only one that boasts the pulsonic technology designed with an active, oscillating head for a higher level of comfort and closeness. Consumersearch.com also indicates it's the quietest Braun model to date.
Cost
-
Braun has four different series models in four different price points. While there are a variety of merchants that sell the Braun shaver line of products at slightly different prices, Galt Technology research indicates that the 9595 model sells for right around $200 and the 8995 model for about $50 less. Their research also shows that customers find the $50 price difference worth the award-winning pulsonic technology that delivers more than 10,000 microvibrations per minute.

Benefits
-
A typical complaint is that electric shavers tug and pull on the beard. Customer reviews at the Galt Buying Guides website found that the Braun 9595 pulsonic technology feature is the single feature that separates that electric shaver from not only the 8995 model but also other brands of shavers. The technology supposedly exposes more hair to the blades quicker and without uncomfortable pulling and tugging. In addition, the 9595 has been found to be quieter, during shaving, than the other Braun series models.
Negatives
-
Customers complain the Braun 9595 is not a dramatic improvement over the 8995. Despite the more advanced pulsonic technology, customer reviews at consumersearch.com questioned the value of paying extra for the Braun 9595 over the 8995 just for the benefit of the advanced feature. Since the Braun technology in general delivers such a high level of closeness and comfort in a shave, the new feature may not be necessary. They also noted that the 9595 cleaning system is very noisy and replacement cartridges expensive.
Reputation
-
Braun's money-back guarantee and warranty gives consumers purchase protection. Consumersearch.com experts do point out that the Braun reputation for producing quality products and standing behind them is a significant selling point but doesn't put one series model over the other. Braun typically offers a two-year warranty on its shavers and a 30-day money-back trial to give customers a chance to decide on the product themselves.
