Logitech Universal Harmony 650 Remote Information

The Logitech Harmony 650 is a universal remote control designed to consolidate the multitude of device controllers into one universal device. It features one-touch multi-device functioning, easy online setup, and custom programmable buttons.

  1. Setup

    • To set up the Harmony 650 you must connect the remote to your computer with the included USB cord. Once connected your remote will launch its “guided online setup,” to walk you through the process of programming your remote control. You will input the devices and models you have-DVD player, gaming system, cable/satellite box, etc.

    Programmable Features

    • Unlike a standard universal remote control, the Logitech Harmony 650 will allow you to program “activities” for ease of use. For instance, programming the “watch a movie” button will turn on your DVD player, turn on your television and change its input to where the DVD player is connected. The Harmony 650 will now be configured to control the specific DVD player programmed. When you are done with the movie, pressing “watch TV” will turn off the DVD player, switch the input, and turn on the cable box connected with full remote functionality.

    Display

    • The Harmony 650 features a fully programmable color display for aesthetics and ease of use. You can program your favorite channels into folders or find specific buttons that are unique to one of your individual devices. The Harmony 650 also features a “help” button should a function of the remote not be working.

    Supported Devices

    • The Logitech Harmony 650 features an ever expanding data base of more than 5,000 supported devices. Supported devices include DVD players, gaming systems, stereo receivers, VCRs, cable/satellite boxes, and DVRs. The Harmony 650 is also “future proof” with constantly updated software that enables the programming of new and future devices.

    Considerations

    • While the Logitech Harmony 650 can control up to 5,000 supported devices, it does not have the capabilities to control radio-based devices such as lighting and electronic curtains. The Logitech Harmony 650 also does not control the Sony PS3 without purchasing the PS3 accessory dongle. If you have trouble resolving your Harmony 650 problems with the built-in “help” feature, the Logitech remote features a free help desk.
