Customized Clothing for Men
There are many types of menswear that can be customized. These include suits, shirts, blazers, jackets, overcoats and trousers. Creating clothing from scratch gives the man complete control of the design, type of fabric, details and colors so that they complement only him. Most importantly, the fit will be precisely tailored to his body. Does this Spark an idea?

Prices
-
Customized men's clothing are typically priced competitively with off-the-rack clothing. As with off-the-rack clothing, the price is dependent on the fabric and the type of garment. Custom suits range from $700 to $3,500; jackets from $460 to $2,000; trousers from $220 to $1,200; shirts from $90 to $600; and overcoats from $700 to $4,000.
Measuring
-
Before choosing the fabric, colors, details and style, the tailor must have a man's exact measurements before he can make the garment. He can either go to the tailor, who will make his garment from measurements, or measure himself at home if ordering from an online, custom-tailored clothing merchant.
When measuring, the measuring tape should be held flat against the body and snug, but not tight. The measurements should be taken to the nearest quarter-inch and no "wiggle" room should be added. The tailor will do that based on the man's preferences and build. When measuring for a suit, a man should measure his neck, full chest, full shoulder width, right and left sleeve length, bicep, wrist, waist/stomach, hips/seat, front jacket length, front chest width, back width, left and right half shoulder width, full back measurement, half back length, trouser waist, trouser outseam, trouser inseam, crotch, thigh, knee and right and left full sleeve measurement.

Suits
-
Suits are a staple in every man's wardrobe. A suit comprises a jacket and trousers of the same cut and material, designed to be worn together. There are three types of suit styles a man can have created for him. English style is typified by soft, unpadded shoulders, an hourglass body with a high waist that is double- or single-breasted and has side vents. Italian style, sometimes referred to as Continental style, is lightweight, squared with high shoulders, short jacket, a close-fitting single-breasted body with two buttons and no vents. The American or sack suit sits naturally on the shoulder with a straight, somewhat roomy body. It has three buttons and a back vent. A custom-made suit should flatter a man's body.
Shirts
-
There are many types of customized dress shirts a man can make. He can choose from various fabrics such as herringbone and broad cloth, and the type of cut -- fitted, square, and so on. The shirt patterns -- check, stripes, solids -- can be selected to enhance or diminish certain features such as height and girth. One way to check a shirt's quality is by inspecting its pattern. The patterns should always line up. Also, there are different types of collars to choose from, as well as buttons and stays. Buttons are another detail that mark a shirt's quality. Typically, custom-made shirts have mother of pearl buttons, which are more hardy than their plastic counterparts.
Jackets and Blazers
-
Jackets and blazers can help complete a man's casual outfit. These can be custom-made to be appropriate for the occasion a man plans to wear it to. There are many styles and fabrics from which to choose from: single breasted, houndstooth and tweed, among others. As with suit jackets, these are made to flatter a man's figure and fit him perfectly.
Overcoat
-
An overcoat is a coat that is meant to be worn over an garment that needs protecting from the elements. It should be fitted properly so that it can effectively protect a man from the cold. Typically, men wear these a size too large. Having them custom-made ensures that they fit over a man's frame perfectly. The location of the pockets can be tailored so a man can put his hands in easily and the collar can be designed to flip up and protect his neck.
