Chakra stones are a rainbow for the body, mind and spirit.

Chakras are points of energy that correspond with parts of the human body. Chakra stones are gem stones that resonate with those energy points and either enhance or suppress them. Each of the seven chakras is endowed with a color and therefore different colored gemstones have some significance. The stones are useful in bringing balance and focus to the body, mind and spirit of a person by placing them on the body.

  1. Chakra One

      The first chakra is at the base of the spine. It is called the root chakra or the Muldhara. It influences the bones, teeth, nails and color and is associated with the feeling of security and the drive to survive. It keeps one grounded. Red is the color of this chakra and stones most used are red jasper, bloodstone, garnet and ruby. Hematite helps stop irrational feelings of intrusion while garnet and ruby will ensure healthy bones and teeth. Black Tourmaline will make one feel protected and safe. Place stones at the base of the spine.

    Chakra Two

    • The second chakra is found in the genital area and is called the genital chakra or the sacral, sexual or Svadhisthana chakra. It influences the reproductive organs, pelvis, sexuality, emotions and creativity. Orange is its color. Stones that react to this chakra are carnelian to stimulate creativity and ruby to enhance passion. Overactive sexual desires or problems with the reproductive organs can be eased by placing jade or clear quartz in the genital area to block that energy.

    Chakra Three

    • The third chakra is the navel chakra also known as the stomach, personality, abdominal or Manipura chakra. The digestive system, lower back, spleen and gall bladder are affected as are the qualities of vitality, desire and power. Yellow to green is the color. Citrine and topaz allows balance, and pyrite gets creative energy flowing. Peridot and moonstone placed on the stomach near the navel will stop issues with the spleen, gall bladder or digestive system and allow relaxation.

      The fourth chakra is the heart, also called the Anahata chakra. Influence is to the heart, upper part of the back, lungs, breasts and circulation of the blood. It also is attuned to the qualities of love, compassion and hope. The color of this chakra is pink. Rhodocrocite will help with love-induced anxiety. Rose quartz will allow love of self and Rhodonite aids patience. All pink stones help ailments of corresponding parts of the body and should be placed on the chest near the heart. Aventurine will influence physical health, emerald will enhance love, lepidolite calms, and malachite enhances creativity.

    Chakra Five

      The fifth chakra is called the throat chakra, the expressive or communication chakra or Vishuddh. It governs the throat, neck, nose and qualities of creativity, courage and healing. The color is blue. Aquamarine will lend tranquility while blue agate will aid in grounded communication. Blue topaz will create communication and turquoise helps sway intentions and desires of others. Place the stones on the throat or back of the neck.

    • Amethyst is one of the best stones attached to the chakra for the third eye.

      The sixth chakra is the third eye, knowledge or inner brow chakra and also called Ajina. This chakra is associated with ears, eyes, central nervous system and with intuition and the psychic senses. The color is indigo. Amethyst will allow sleep, charolite dispels fears, lapis gives self awareness, and solodite will help sort things out when confused. Place the stones on the forehead between the eyes.

      This is the crown or Sahasrara chakra. It influences the brain, glands and the qualities of understanding and enlightenment. The color is white. Clear quartz and crystals bring understanding to the mind while danburite gives perspective and tranquility. Diamonds will block misgivings and enhance intelligence. Place stones high on the forehead near the hair line
