    Job Responsibilities

    • Macy's sales associates are assigned to departments where they are responsible for selling products to customers.     General Duties

Sales associates also receive payments from customers, which may be in cash or via check, credit card or debit card. Sales associates operate cash registers. These salespersons also place customers' purchases in bags or packages.

      Sales associates perform other tasks, as assigned, such as stocking racks and shelves, marking prices, preparing displays and taking inventory. As these retail salespersons work, they are continually alert to possible thefts and other security risks. They follow specific store procedures to handle security problems, by calling security guards, for example.

    Work Schedule

    • Macy's sales associates are hired to part-time, full-time or on-call positions. They may be required to work evenings and weekends.

Most retail salespersons received an estimated annual salary from $15,340 to $39,810.
