The Specifications for a 1967 Ford Mustang GT
The Ford Motor Company became the pioneer of the pony car--a sports-oriented vehicle with incredibly powerful performance with the debut of the Ford Mustang in 1964. However, competition had arrived by 1967: the Pontiac had the Firebird, Plymouth had the Barracuda, Chevrolet had the Camaro, and even Ford's entry-level luxury marque Mercury had the Cougar. The 1967 Mustang was thus the response to such a proliferation of pony cars in the automobile industry.

Ford added a fifth engine that was the Mustang's most powerful yet for the 1967 model year: the V-8 390 ci with 320 horses.
