Ties are a very popular accessory for men. They come in all kinds of different colors and styles. Bright red ties are often worn to denote power, while ties with humorous patterns can show that the wearer has a sense of humor (though not necessarily a good one). A tie bar's primary function is to attach your tie to your shirt. This keeps the tie from flopping around, getting blown by the wind, or accidentally ending up in your soup. The flat, long bar goes across the tie and clips into the middle of a button-down shirt.
