A Realtor association director advocates on behalf of Realtor members. They depend on their elected or appointed leader to make policy recommendations related to their profession and to homeowners, the mortgage industry and construction. Policy advocacy includes making recommendations to all levels of governments (federal, state and local). This director may belong to organizations such as the Realtors Political Action Committee.
Administration

The Realtor association director oversees the administrative functions of the organization. This includes working with staff to organize work processes, financial administration, record keeping and building maintenance. The director begins by studying documents, including the association's governing documents and internal policies and procedures, rules and laws for the Multiple Listing Service and the online manual for the National Realtors Database System.
