Christian Educator Job Description
The mission of a Christian educator is to prayerfully lead students in learning subject matter, enhancing skills and portraying attitudes which will contribute to their continued development. A Christian educator should be a mature, able and responsible Christian man or woman who exemplifies the praise and glory of God.

Qualifications

A Christian educator should have a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A Christian educator is one who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, while being a member in good standing of a church, leading a separated life. This man or woman should be of spiritual maturity with both academic and leadership abilities. He shall reflect on the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and activity. The Christian educator should also feel called by God to the teaching position.
Spiritual responsibilities

Christian educators should teach the importance of Scripture. Spiritual responsibilities of a Christian educator include acting as a role model in a consistent walk with Jesus Christ, showing by example the importance of Scripture and prayer, witnessing and providing unity in Christian fellowship, motivating students to accept God's gift of salvation, guiding students to grow in their own faith, leading students to realize their self-worth in Christ, and encouraging Christian service activities.

Instructional responsibilities

Parents are primarily responsible for their child's education. Instructional responsibilities of a Christian educator include recognizing the role of parents as being primarily responsible before God for their child's education while assisting them in the task, teaching class as assigned following a prescribed curriculum scheduled by the principal of the school, integrating biblical principles and Christian philosophy throughout the curriculum, mastering subject material by using teaching techniques to achieve goals within the framework of the school's philosophy, planning a program of study that meets individual needs and abilities of students while challenging each to do his best, teaching to reach the whole child (spiritual, mental, physical, social and emotional), balancing the use of field trips and other media, and using homework effectively as a means to enrich learning.
Non-instructional responsibilities

The educator is responsible for the organization and neatness of her classroom. All Christian educators are expected to cooperate with the administration by implementing policies, procedures and directives handed down by the Board of Education. She is required to maintain regular, accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student's progress. The educator should keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies of each student. The educator's classroom should be well-ordered and attractive with attention to bulletin boards, chalk boards, book storage and furniture arrangement. Upon request, she will supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, and outings and will support the broader programs of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible.
Personal qualifications

A Christian educator will dress modestly. A desired Christian educator will be a person who demonstrates the character qualities such as enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance and punctuality. This person will need to meet everyday stress with emotional stability, optimism and objectivity, while treating all others respectfully. In a Christian environment it is important to maintain a clean and modest personal appearance that is in good taste and in agreement with school policy.
