Blu-ray is the latest innovation in discs for movie storage and viewing. It is currently the optimal technology for high-definition movies and videos. Each disc holds up to 25 gigabytes of movie data, and a double-layer disc can hold up to 50. Blu-ray disc players can also play DVDs, and automatically give them a "boost" to make them look more high-definition. If you have an HD DVD, you can play it easily on your Blu-ray player.

Check that your TV and your Blu-ray player are turned on and plugged in.

Open the player lid and put in the HD DVD with the side you want to play facing down. Close the lid.

Push play on the Blu-ray player or on your remote control. The disc will play normally. You may also need to set your TV to "DVD" mode if the disc doesn't start playing automatically.
