American Family Rights Association

The American Family Rights Association (AFRA) is a professional association made up of parents, guardians, grandparents, licensed social workers, attorneys, medical professionals and advocates--human rights, family rights and freedom advocates.

AFRA seeks to intervene and redress the government where it has wrongfully invaded the family and caused a split of its members. The association does this by providing educational material, support and information to families and their children such that they can have knowledge of the liberties and sovereign rights of the family unit.

  1. Reuniting of Families

    • AFRA has been involved in reuniting children, who have been wrongfully placed in foster homes, with their families. The children who are taken into foster care are usually distressed and have problems with their education, among other childhood problems. In relation to such problems, the association resolved to have the government provide $250 million which would be used on services or programs to keep families together; such as drug and alcohol programs, counseling sessions and housing assistance.

    Mental Health Care

    • This association has been battling the effects of wrongful psychiatric evaluation. Thousands of victims of such diagnoses have been rescued from involuntary mental institutions and from medications which were wrongly administered. As such, people have been reunited with society and more importantly with their families. Compensation to these victims in monetary form has exceeded tens of millions of dollars. Electro-shocking and patients being constrained onto hospital beds are among the physical abuse suffered by these victims.

    Drug Companies

    • The association has concerned itself with drug manufacturing companies that have produced drugs that have caused side effects and have resulted in paralysis or even death. This is mostly on the basis that the drug manufacturer did not conduct efficient prior research on the side effects or even worse, they chose to proceed with production knowing the hazards of the drug. The association looks for ways to force such companies to compensate the victims.

    Gay Marriages

    • There has been ongoing discussions on whether to legalize homosexual unions. The issue of child adoption by such couples is part of the debat. A gay couple cannot have a child of their own without assistance from sperm doctors and surrogate mothers. The contentious issue is the impact on the child who is brought up by two homosexuals. Suppose a child is adopted by a gay couple; how would his growing up be affected? The association wants to fight for the right of the child to be entitled to a mother and father.

    Why Join AFRA?

    • The individual and family itself should be the first ones to protect their rights. Thus, the association enables individual and families to educate themselves and provide them with support when the member suffers violation of his rights by the government.
