Those working as postmaster or mail superintendents have some of the highest salaries with a median of $72,600, according to a April 2010 report by Payscale.com. Those working as customer service supervisors and electronics technicians have median salaries around $61,000. USPS workers employed as postal service mail carriers and postal service clerks have median salaries around $51,000, while those working as mail processing clerks have a median salary of $50,800.

Experience is also a determinant of one's salary at the USPS. Veteran employees with 20 or more years of experience have the highest median salary of $59,500, according to PayScale.com in April 2010. Employees with an Associate of Science or an Associate of Applied Science degree earned around $53,000.
