Most people take Ginkgo biloba to improve circulation and to enhance memory. Since Ginkgo biloba can improve circulation, it is often used by men who experience erectile dysfunction. It can also relax the muscles and assist with penis blood flow.

    Effects

    • There are many types of herbal Viagras on the market that can be purchased for less money and without a prescription. Most of these alternative supplements contain Ginkgo biloba and are free from any side effects that are common with prescription Viagra.

    Directions for use

    • According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, men should take 60 to 100 mg of Ginkgo biloba daily to help with erections and results can usually be seen between a week and a month after starting Ginkgo biloba. It is available in capsules, tablets and leaves that are used to make tea.

    Significance

    • Men may face the inability to get and maintain an erection, loss of libido or inability to achieve an orgasm. Ginkgo biloba has shown great promise for men suffering from antidepressant-induced sexual dysfunction, according to Organic Vegetables & Health.
