A promotions marketing director is someone who handles the "selling" of a company. Promotions marketing directors are employed in a variety of industries and perform a multitude of duties, from coming up with new ways to promote a product or service, to writing and editing press releases, to arranging interviews of key personnel with the media.

They also often hire, train and manage a staff.

Salary figures are based largely on the marketing director's industry, experience and overall duties.
