Professional dress in the business world can either further or hinder your day-to-day image in relationships. The first impression that coworkers or clients get is largely how you dress. Presenting a professional appearance aids in giving a lasting first impression.

Buisness Suit

A nice-looking suit is the largest part of men's professional dress. Suits in brown, gray, black or blue are all acceptable colors for a business event. Be sure to match the pants and jacket. If the jacket has stripes, the pants should also have stripes. Complimentary shades of gray can be matched but are more casual than a matched suit. A blue sports coat can be matched with khaki pants for a more casual look. Occasionally, a jacket is not required when business casual attire is recommended.

Cartoon ties should be kept for non-business meetings. Striped, solid, paisley or even dotted ties are a much more professional option. Keep your tie straitened and secure the knot in a manner that is not too tight and not too loose.
