Real Estate Foreclosure Training
A foreclosure is the process through which banks seize and sell a property following the borrower's inability to make mortgage payments. The lender will then set up a trustee sale, where investors may buy the property at a public auction. For many investors trained in buying and managing real estate distressed assets, this is an opportune chance to acquire residential homes and other property at bargain prices.

Objectives
-
Foreclosure training teaches students about the fundamentals of the foreclosure process and how to find and identify distressed real estate properties. Since the majority of foreclosure properties are sold through public auctions, students are also taught about the real estate auction process and what factors they should consider before investing in foreclosures. In addition, foreclosure training covers subjects such as bank real estate owned (REO) property, title searching, property management and how to raise money to purchase property.
Required Skills
-
Most real estate foreclosure training courses available to the public welcome students who wish to learn more about real estate investing or start a career as a real estate agent. It is helpful for trainees to already have basic researching and computer skills, since many foreclosure and real estate resources are online. In addition, foreclosure trainees should have good networking skills.

Types
-
The types of foreclosure classes available are diverse in subject matter and range in size and format. For example, some courses are taught through online webinars and recorded training sessions. Other courses take place in the classroom and are taught to small and large groups.
Time Frame
-
Foreclosure training classes vary according to the format and course goals. Some courses are short web trainings that last only 90 minutes. Other classes labeled as "hands-on" training are taught in a classroom and can span over three days. Shorter courses typically focus on only one aspect of foreclosures, whereas longer courses cover basic, intermediate and advanced topics related to purchasing distressed properties.
Benefits
-
In addition to learning about how to make a profit purchasing foreclosure property, students gain knowledge about the latest government legislation affecting the foreclosure process. Some training classes also review short sales and REO properties, which present additional investment opportunities in distressed real estate. Other training courses offer students a chance to listen to guest speakers, who are experienced and successful investors in foreclosure property.
