A design project manager oversees one or several projects to ensure each project meets established deadlines and financial guidelines. These professionals are often found in a variety of technical industries, and combine technical and management skills to complete each project.

Education

Educational requirements typically include at least a bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the type of design project the employer provides. These types of services are often technical in nature and require education in engineering, architecture, information technology or a related discipline. Employment opportunities may increase for those who obtain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.

This occupation can be found in a variety of industries and uses different technical disciplines to complete design projects.
