A sales associate is also required to suggest appropriate sewing patterns and sewing supplies to help a customer complete a project. Fabric sales associates are also responsible for cutting fabrics to a customer’s desired length and should be able to complete a purchase as a cashier. The sales associate is up-to-date on a store’s sales and promotions.

Skills

A fabric sales associate must be able to operate all of the equipment necessary to perform his or her job. They must have excellent communication skills and be able to pass information on to customers and coworkers. The associate should also be to be able to document any necessary items in a manner that is accurate and understandable.

Requirements

A fabric sales associate must follow the establishment’s dress code. This person should be able to stand for long periods of time and have the ability to move and/or lift products in the store. A sales associate is also responsible for generating sales, providing merchandising and safeguarding company assets.
