Cell phone LCD screens sometimes go dim. If a cell phone LCD screen stops performing properly, it might need to be replaced. Early warning signs of a LCD screen failing is dim lighting, blank pixels or horizontal streaks. If the screen is dim, the battery could be low. Turn off the phone and charge it. After charging the phone, turn it back on to see whether the problem persists. If the screen is still dim, you might need to replace the battery. If replacing the battery doesn't resolve the problem, you will need to replace the LCD screen. After part costs and service charges, replacing the LCD screen on your cell phone might cost more than the retail value of the phone.
Keypad

Keep your keypad clean. Cell phone keypads can stop working because of dust or dirt getting stuck inside the keypad. A can of compressed air can clean inside the keypad. A can of compressed air typically comes with an extension nozzle that allows access to hard-to-reach places. If necessary, use tweezers to remove keypad keys. Carefully replace the keys once finished cleaning the dust and dirt from inside your keypad. The keys should easily snap back on with firm pressure.

Cell phone power cords can break. Power cords stop working either because of a broken cord or a dead battery. To find out whether your power cord is the problem, go to a cell phone store and plug the phone into a new charger. If the phone charges as usual, the old charger no longer works and must be replaced. If the new charger still doesn't charge the cell phone, replace the old battery with a new battery and test again. If the new battery charges properly, the old battery is dead. Buy a new battery for your cell phone.
Overheating

Using a cell phone for several hours straight can cause the phone to overheat. Wait an hour and then try charging your phone again.
