Herbal Impotence Cures

Impotence is a common problem. Impotence means a man cannot sustain an erection that is needed for sex. A man suffering from impotence can also have a problem with keeping an erection long enough to achieve sexual intercourse and ejaculation. Impotence can be caused by physical or psychological problems, or a combination of both.

  1. Ginkgo Biloba

    • Ginkgo biloba can increase blood flow to the penis and the brain because it improves circulation. It can improve impotence without the risky side effects that prescription medications may cause. If given enough time to work, perhaps several months, it can help tremendously in treating impotence.

    Cardamom

    • Cardamom is an aromatic spice that can be used as an aphrodisiac. It contains a high amount of cineole, which can stimulate the central nervous system. Many cultures have used cardamom and have found it to treat impotence effectively.

    Ginseng

    • Ginseng is very well known as a sexual stimulant. It is both a relaxant and a stimulant on the central nervous system and can improve muscle stamina. This herb is full of vitality and has been used by men who have low sex drive. Do not take ginseng for a long amount of time--not longer than three weeks at a time. Do not take it if you have high blood pressure.

    Maca

    • Maca is a natural aphrodisiac you can use for the treatment of impotence. It is supposed to have a profound effect not only on impotence but with reproduction and virility as well. It can also improve mental and physical vigor and counteract osteoporosis.

    Saw Palmetto

    • Saw palmetto is another effective herb that can be used as an aphrodisiac. The berries of saw palmetto have a toning effect on the male reproductive system. It helps treat not only impotence but also prostate problems and cystitis. The Native Americans considered the berries of saw palmetto to be a natural tonic for many health problems.

    Yohimbe

    • Yohimbe bark extract is one of the only natural herbs so far to be approved by the FDA. It was discovered in Africa and was originally used as an aphrodisiac. The active ingredient in this herb is a compound called yohimbine. This active compound can help dilate the small blood vessels in the penis, therefore helping to overcome impotence.

    Causes

    • Physical problems that can cause impotence include lack of blood supply to the penis, diabetes or high blood sugar levels, prescription drugs, hormone problems, and neurological conditions. Psychological causes may include depression, stress, lack of desire, and fear of failure to reach and hold an erection.
