The hardware of SunSetter awnings is made of rust-proof aluminum. Painting is never necessary because the finish is baked enamel. They are strong, but lightweight. The motorized awnings operate smoothly and are very reliable. SunSetter offers a five-year limited warranty on workmanship and materials, including the motor. An optional warranty is available to protect against damage from severe weather.

The fabrics of the SunSetter awnings protect by blocking as much as 99 percent of the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UVA and UVB) rays. SunSetter awnings are available with two types of fabric. A woven acrylic is lightweight, durable and water-repellent. Costs vary according to style and size. As of 2010, the cost of a 10-foot awning is between $700 and $1,200. The same size in the motorized type is about $1,500. These prices do not include delivery charges. An online discount may also be offered. Window awnings and solar screens range from about $200 to $300. A screen room for a 10-foot awning is about $400.
