Comfortis is a tablet medication that has a beef flavor and lasts approximately 30 days, providing comfort no matter the weather or activity.

Warnings

Although Comfortis is made with a beef flavor that most dogs like, it is actually made with a pork product. If the dog has an allergy to pork, alternative flea medication may be necessary. It is also very important to use only the dosage level specified for your dog's weight. An over dosage may result in illness or serious injury in the dog. Feeding the dog when giving the Comfortis tablet may help to prevent nausea in the dog at the time of administration. Comfortis is only approved for dogs and should not be used to treat flea infestations in humans or cats.

Side Effects

Although rare, some side effects are associated with the use of Comfortis. The most frequent ones are depression or lethargy, incoordination, decreased appetite, diarrhea, trembling and seizures. Other side effects include drooling or nausea after taking the tablet. These can be prevented by using only the recommended dosage and by feeding the dog when dosing it. Use this product only once every 30 days to prevent side effects. If side effects do occur, speak with a veterinarian right away.
