The responsibilities for a club lounge attendant may be extensive or minimal depending on the employer. The job description includes conducting oneself in a professional and courteous manner. Attendants effectively communicate with the front office, managers and guests. They serve food and beverages, oversee guest arrangements and changes, clear tables, clean guest areas and assist guests with reservations for restaurants and airlines. Attendants maintain an accurate log of activities, manage issues regarding a guest's stay, manage work orders and refer issues to management when required.
An attendant's job involves mingling with customers, some of whom are pleasant and others who may be difficult. The attendant must be able to be standing and walking for long hours, to carry heavy items and be in constant contact with people.

A club lounge attendant needs to have a flexible schedule, a high school diploma, and in some instances training with certification in the food industry. No formal education is required. Experience in the food, hotel and restaurant industry may be required, and the amount of experience may vary. Knowledge of customer service practices is beneficial and for some organizations, being bilingual is a plus.

There may be no benefit package available for part-time employees, though most companies offer discounts on purchases and hotel stays. Full-time employees may receive vacation and health benefits.
