Dry Shampoo for Cats
Most cats do not like being wet. Anyone who has attempted to bathe a cat knows that doing so risks frantic clawing and scratching from the feline friend. Although they are naturally clean creatures and spend a lot of time grooming, cats have areas that they cannot reach, including the head and back. If a cat panics in water, dry cat shampoo can save her owner from unnecessary painful moments.

Benefits
-
Natural ingredients are safe for cats. Dry shampoo for cats eliminates dirt and odor while making the cat's coat soft. The shampoo's formula contains no harmful agents. This pet care product is equally safe for kittens, puppies and pregnant animals. The fresh scent comes from organic herbs and essential oils. When developing the formula, the creator held the cat owner's health and that of the pet in high priority. If a cat licks himself after the powder is applied, he won't be harmed.

Homemade cat dry shampoo is made from grain. Two choices are available for dry shampoo for cats: a powdered formula and a homemade version.
-
Ingredients
-
Dry shampoo is safe for kittens. Powdered dry shampoo contains ingredients that are all natural, hypoallergenic and free of detergent. The contents are edible, and so pet owners shouldn't worry when their cat licks her fur. The shampoo contains the powdered form of arrowroot, roses, iris root and lavender. It also consists of pure essential oils of cedar wood and lavender.
The homemade shampoo contains a grain: oatmeal, cornmeal or bran.
Directions
-
Cats should be brushed well after the dry shampoo bath. A moderate amount of the powdered dry shampoo is sprinkled over the cat's coat, and fingers help to work the powder down to the cat's skin and out to the fur's ends. A natural bristled brush is best to work the powder out of the fur.
For the homemade shampoo, 1 cup of bran, oatmeal or cornmeal is poured on a cookie sheet then baked on low for 5 minutes until it is warm but not hot. The grain is rubbed into the fur with a towel, and then the fur is brushed until the grain is completely gone.
Recommendations
-
A dry bath benefits cat and owner. Cats might not approve of the homemade dry shampoo. It is, however, more effective than a wet bath. Luckily, it does not cause the same reaction as a wet bath. An assistant may be needed for the homemade method, depending on the cat's tolerance and level of cooperation.
