Oce Vs. Xerox Large Format Copier
If you've started a business and you need a copier, there are plenty of models out there. Oce and Xerox both have features that can help your business.
-
Speed
-
Xerox copiers have a higher speed when it comes to copying pages. Xerox's top copier models today have speeds ranging from 50 pages per minute to 110 ppm. However, Oce's average speed isn't that high as their copiers range in speeds from 25 to 50 ppm.
Quality
-
Most Xerox and Oce models carry an average quality of 600 by 600 dots per inch. Xerox has higher-end copiers that have a 2,400 by 2,400 dpi to offer as well, though. The highest resolution Oce offers is 1,800 by 600 dpi.
-
Sizes
-
Both Xerox and Oce have different specifications when it comes to what size paper they can handle. The Xerox iGen3 has a minimum size of 7 by 7 inches, while the maximum size is 14.33 by 20.5 inches. Oce's cm2510 has no minimum size listed, but its maximum size is 11 by 17 inches.
Compatibility
-
Xerox has drivers for its copiers that support Windows, Macintosh and even open source systems like Solaris. Oce only has support for Windows and Macintosh, leaving open source users out in the cold. Xerox is also up to date as they provided support for Windows 7 soon after it came out. As of November 2009, Oce did not have direct support for the new operating system.
Service
-
After buying the copier, both Xerox and Oce have fully functional support options on their websites. They both offer toll free numbers and email to contact in case something should go wrong with your copier.
Price
-
As of 2009, Xerox copiers range from as low as $549 to $5,000. Oce does not list its prices on its website. Instead, you must contact it with your personal information to receive a quote within a couple of business days.
