Blonde on Bottom Brown on Top Hairstyles
Having your hair dyed two different colors, such as blond on the bottom and brown on the top, is a good way to add depth and interest to any hair style and is more interesting than just one color, or regular highlights. Naturally, you will want to emphasize your two-toned hair by styling it to show off your different-colored layers. Since your hair is already interesting and colorful, you only need simple and easy styles to emphasize the two colors. Does this Spark an idea?

Braids
-
Part your hair down the middle and simply braid your hair. This style is good if you are in a hurry or just want something simple to do for the day, but you will still make an impact by showing off your blond and brown two-toned hair. Your braids will make it appear as if your hair is "striped" and the brown and blond will entwine and contrast nicely. A variation of this would be to do just one braid, or French braid. Make your center part more interesting by creating a "zig-zag" instead of just a straight part down the middle.
Buns
-
Just like braids, buns will also create a nice striped or swirled effect. Part your hair down the middle, pull your hair up into two high pigtails and hold them with hair elastics. Twist and twirl your hair around on itself to create a bun. The twisting will swirl the two colors together so that they contrast each other nicely. Secure the bun with a hair elastic and a few bobby pins if you need them. If you want to change this up a bit, you can leave a few pieces hanging down from the buns so that you have a combination of buns and pigtails.

Half Up, Half Down
-
The classic "half-up, half-down" style is great for showing off the contrast of your top and bottom layer, and can be done with almost any length of hair or hair type. This style is very versatile because you can add a "bump" to the top of your head by teasing or back-combing the hair at the crown of your head and smoothing it down with hair spray. A very simple and subtle method is to use a couple of bobby pins on either side of your head to hold the top layer up, exposing the bottom layer. You can also gather the top layer higher up on your head to show even more of the different-colored bottom layer.
Twist
-
Any up-do will emphasize two-toned hair, but if you add a twist to it, it will create the same swirling effect as the braids or the buns. Bring out any bangs or face-framing fringe that you may have. Start at the top-middle of your head and begin twisting your hair counterclockwise down the back of your head. Push bobby pins into both sides of the twist to hold it in place as you make your way down to the nape of your neck. Secure your hair in a bun at the bottom or just tie it into a pony tail.
Curled Ends
-
If your hair is layered, a good way to show off your blond bottom layer would be to curl your hair up at the ends and in front. Use a large-barrel curling iron or a round brush with a hair dryer to create a swept effect, as if your hair were being blown by the wind. If you have choppy, shaggy layers throughout your hair, spray some heat-protecting product on the ends of your hair and use a curling iron to turn individual pieces of the top layer up.
