Amiloretic tablets are available via prescription only. They are made of the diuretics amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide. A diuretic is a substance that increases the rate at which water is excreted from the body. Amiloretic tablets are commonly prescribed to help control high blood pressure and are often given to patients suffering from excess fluid retention caused by heart disease. They should only be used as prescribed, and the dosing instructions should be followed explicitly. For Amiloretic tablets to be as effective as possible, they should be taken at the same time each day.
Dehydration is a possible side effect of using Amiloretic tablets. This is because of the diuretic effect of the medicine. When taking Amiloretic tablets, make sure to consume plenty of water each day. Dehydration can lead to the development of other side effects, such as constipation, fatigue and muscle cramping. Limit the use of other products that have diuretic effects, such as coffee and alcohol while using Amiloretic tablets.
Nausea is sometimes experienced by users of Amiloretic tablets. This is because the body generally needs 2 to 3 days to develop a tolerance to a new medicine. After this initial 2- to 3-day period, the presence of nausea should be minimal to non-existent. If you continue to experience nausea while taking Amiloretic tablets, consult your physician about the use of an emetic, which is a medicine used to combat nausea.
Constipation may occur from the use of Amiloretic tablets. This is because the diuretics present in the medication can cause too much water to be excreted from the body, especially if they are taken in amounts higher than the listed dosage amount. Following a diet high in fiber and consuming plenty of fluids will make experiencing constipation less likely. An over-the-counter remedy, such as a laxative or stool softener, can also provide relief from constipation.
Dizziness may occur from the use of Amiloretic tablets. One of the reasons for this is that changes in blood pressure level can cause dizziness, and Amiloretic tablets are often prescribed to help control high blood pressure. Dehydration, which is another possible side effect of Amiloretic tablets, can also cause dizziness. If dizziness is a persistent issue while using Amiloretic tablets, consult your physician.
Before using Amiloretic tablets, make sure to disclose all the other medications and supplements you are taking to your physician, along with any preexisting medical conditions you may have. Contact your doctor immediately while taking Amiloretic tablets if you experience an allergic reaction, irregular heartbeat, muscle or joint pain, lowered circulation, numbness, weakness, shortness of breath, depression, sore throat, or yellowing of the skin and eyes. These could be signs of an undiagnosed liver condition.
