Mulberry Zuccarin & Weight Loss

As you look for ways to lose weight, there are a number of options you can try. Some work better than others. One supplement that has drawn a lot of attention is mulberry zuccarin extract. While it is certainly an option to be considered in your weight loss plan, it has naysayers, as well.

  1. Mulberry Zuccarin

    • Mulberry zuccarin is an extract of the mulberry leaf. It is rich in amino acids, polyphenols, steroids, vitamin c and other antioxidants and minerals. It also contains the enzyme 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ). It mimics sugar. This fools the body into allowing sugar to pass through the intestines without being absorbed as glucose. This allows the body to control blood sugar levels.

    For Weight Loss

    • People will gain weight because they consume more calories than they burn off in a day. Mulberry zuccarin keeps many of the calories from being absorbed into the body. According to one manufacturer, the reduction could be as much as 35 percent. This means it reduces your calorie intake, making it more likely you will burn off more calories than you consume.

    For Diabetes

    • Mulberry zuccarin is more often used as a way to help people with diabetes. This is because of mulberry zuccarin's ability to control and balance the blood sugar levels. The better balanced your blood sugar will be, the better you can control your diabetes.

    Dosage

    • The recommended dosage of mulberry extract is a dosage equivalent to 3750 mg of dry mulberry leaves. The dose should be taken three times a day before meals in order to be in your system to control the spike in blood sugar that your meal will cause.

    Detractors

    • While mulberry leaves have been used for centuries for its healthful benefits, there are some detractors to its health benefits. They usually center on the claims as a diabetes treatment. They also say that there is no scientific study that has been done (as of 2009) to substantiate the claim that mulberry zuccarin can aid in weight loss.
