Grants to Start a Day Care Center
According to the U.S. Census Bureau there are close to 74 million children in the United States under the age of 18. This statistic reveals that close to 25 percent of the American population are minors. Within this group there are 36 million children between the ages of 5 and13. There are a lot of children in our society and many of them will eventually need the services of a licensed child care center. Individuals who wish to open a child care business can receive grant funding to help them with startup cost.

Licensing

If you wish to open a day care center you should know the licensing requirements for each state. A day care provider must provide a building with adequate space that is a safe, well-lighted environment. You should also consider staff-to-child ratios, food and nutrition compliance and proper sanitation requirements. The Childcare Center Enhancement Grant can help day care centers meet some of these requirements. However, each state has different eligibility requirements for this grant.
Startup Grant

The J.C. Hall Network is a resource center for day care providers in Southern Queens, New York. This organization offers support to the childcare facilities located in the area. They offer startup grants for new child care providers. This grant will allow providers to obtain $500 in supplies that would go toward their business. Providers in the area must contact J.C. Licensing Grant

Utah day care providers can receive a $350 grant to help cover the initial licensing fees and other related expenses to opening a day care. The Office of Child Care and Child Care Resources & Referral has a grant that can help day care providers recoup startup costs, which include licensing and fees. You can find out more about this grant by contacting the Children's Services Society in Utah.
Building

Sometimes there are grants that will help day care providers with the building or renovation of a structure. One of these is the Affordable Buildings for Children's Development Fund, which is a California-based grant. Other states usually have similar programs and you can contact your state's day care licensing center to see if any are available.
Startup Grant

Starting a day care facility can be expensive and there is a grant that helps offset the cost of opening a child care program in New York State. Expenses that are related to health and safety equipment, supplies and materials are covered under this grant. Also, this grant is given by the Child Care Council and this organization will aid providers with using the funds through its grants programs. The Child Care Council will also assist child care providers with spending the funds in the best possible manner.
