Computer Games for Visually Impaired
There are a number of computer modifications available to enable those who are either blind or visually impaired to be able to use the machine. Visually impaired people can now use computers to work and to write with, and they can also use computers for fun. There are many places where you can find, download and play games designed for the visually impaired.

Deekout

BSC Games specializes in games for those with visual impairments. You can both buy and download free Windows games from the BSC Games website. Among the free games are Deekout, in which you are trapped in a room with a murderous robot and must avoid it to continue playing the game. If the robot finds you, the game is over. Your points depend on how long you can avoid the robot. You play the game with the four arrow keys on the keyboard, and it is compatible with Windows 95 or higher. You also must have Direct X 8 or higher.

Bobby's Revenge

Bobby's Revenge is another free game available from BSC. In this game, you are Bobby, a vengeful 8-year-old who didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. Bobby decides to chase down Santa with his paintball gun. To win the game, you have to shoot Santa with a paintball. The game is also for Windows and needs Direct X 8 or higher.
Text Adventures

Text adventure games can be played by the visually impaired because text-to-speech clients can be used. There are many places to get text adventure games and interpreters, but a good place to start is the Interactive Fiction Archive, which not only has hundreds of games but also has the interpreters needed to download and play them, all in one page.
Online Card Games

Blind Adrenaline has several card games designed for to be played online. The Blind Adrenaline Card Room features the ability for users to set up their own tables, invite friends to their games, set up private games and make their own tournaments. You have to register to use the games, but they are specifically designed to be used by the blind community.
Crocodile Dentist

Another Windows game designed for the visually impaired is Crocodile Dentist, available at BrailleSoft.net. In Crocodile Dentist, you try to pick out a dangerous crocodile's teeth, one by one. The catch is that there is one tooth that is the croc's sore tooth, and when you choose this one, he will attack.
