Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning (SCDL) is one of the more popular distance education colleges in India. It is approved by India's Distance Education Council (DEC), which oversees standards for open university programs. SCDL offers a master's in business admission diploma program that can be taken online. The program covers a wide selection of topics relating to commerce and business administration, including industrial relations and labor laws, international marketing and advanced customer relationship management.
The postgraduate diploma in business administration is a two-year program that is generally taken over four semesters. Specialization areas are finance, human resource, operations and customer relations management. Dual specialization requires two additional semesters of study. All exams can be taken online from anywhere in the world.

Eligibility

Students must have successfully graduated from an internationally accredited university or have graduated from a three-year program at a recognized polytechnic institute. Polytechnic graduates are also required to have completed five years of supervisory experience prior to applying.
Admissions

Students can apply for admission at SCDL's website address (scdl.org). Local students can also apply in person at any of its 11 campuses in India.
International students are required to furnish written proof of an international address when applying. A current passport or visa showing the foreign address is suitable. The program prospectus can be ordered by mail. All fees can either be paid in U.S. currency or Indian rupees.

Ease of enrollment, cost of the program and recognition of the program within India as a DEC-approved program encourage many small business owners and aspiring students to pursue this degree. Additionally, many employers will reimburse at least part of the tuition. Flexibility of schedule is a further incentive for continuing education students who wish to work while attaining a degree.
Disadvantages

Like many distance education programs, this program operates without face-to-face interaction between instructor and students. Not all students excel in this type of environment. This should be considered before applying. As with all international programs, while SCDL is well recognized in India, international students should confirm that the diploma will be recognized in the country of residence, especially if they are planning to pursue further education.
