They assist with check-out as well. The job requires a pleasant, outgoing personality.
- Many resort hotel also offer concierge services. Concierges take care of details for the guests. They will arrange for transportation, make dinner reservations, and make various recommendations. A concierge must know the local area well. If the guest has a problem or a question, the concierge does everything possible to help.
- Housekeepers are in charge of cleaning. They clean the guest rooms, tidying up if a guest is returning and cleaning thoroughly if the room has been vacated. The housekeepers replaces towels, soap and other necessities. The housekeeping staff is also in charge of cleaning the lobby and the hallways, and laundering sheets and towels.
- The guests at a resort hotel want to feel safe, and it's up to the security staff to make sure that they do. There is at least one member of the security staff on duty at all times. Security is in charge of making the building secure, watching entrances, and quietly overseeing the comings and goings of those in the hotel. Many resort hotels have cameras to help security officers.
- A resort hotel must hire a lifeguard if it has a pool. Lifeguards must be certified, and recertification is required each year. They watch the pool while there are people in it, keeping an eye out for anyone in distess in the water and other problems. They are also responsible for basic maintenance, pool care and keeping the area clean.
