Nisim Shampoo Ingredients
Nisim shampoo is manufactured by Nisim Internationals and is formulated to help reduce excess hair loss. According to the manufacturer's website, the shampoo can be used alone or as a part of the NewHair Biofactors system. The system consists of two Nisim shampoos, two conditioners and other extracts, leave-in sprays, supplements and travel kits. The two Nisim shampoo formulas are formulated to accommodate the needs of "normal to dry" hair and "normal to oily" hair types. Does this Spark an idea?

How Nisim Works
-
Both Nisim shampoo formulas contain a plethora of detergent ingredients, and can be expected to work very much like strong clarifying shampoos: excellent cleansers, poor conditioners. While most shampoos contain one or two detergents for lifting product and residues from the hair and scalp, Nisim shampoos contain at least four common shampoo detergents all rolled up in one product. Nisim contains: sodium laureth sulfate, sodium laurel sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine and cocamide DEA which allows it to easily lift oil, sweat and product residue from the hair and scalp in typical shampoo fashion. The manufacturer of Nisim shampoos claim that the shampoos are also formulated to help reduce excess hair loss by neutralizing and removing DHT, a natural hormonal substance produced in the body that is believed to be a major contributor to hair loss in both men and women (medicalnewstoday.com, 2009).
Effects
-
The number of detergents in both Nisim shampoo formulas cause it to have a harsh, net "stripping" effect on the hair. Nisim's shampoo formula for normal to dry hair does contain "dimethicone and hydrolyzed wheat protein" which smooth the hair cuticle and help reduce typical shampoo tangles, but very little else is provided in the way of conditioning in either shampoo formula.
Nisim shampoos also contain a significant amount of protein reconstructing or "hair repairing" ingredients including inositol, panthenol, cystine, cysteine and biotin. These protein-based ingredients tend to have a net strengthening or hardening effect on the hair. One would be well advised to immediately follow Nisim shampoo applications up with a moisturizing deep conditioner product to restore pliability and manageability to the hair.

Considerations
-
In order to reap the benefits of Nisim shampoos, users are instructed to shampoo with it daily and are urged to rinse and repeat the application. Nisim Shampoo retails for just less than $20 for the eight oz bottle, and just less than $50 for the 33 oz bottle. Each eight oz bottle of Nisim shampoo lasts about four to six weeks (four to six months for the 33 oz bottle) if usage instructions are followed. Shampoos are also available in 2 oz travel or sample sizes.
Benefits
-
The greatest benefit of Nisim shampoos is its claim to greatly reduce hair loss in just one week of daily use.
Warning
-
The ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate is a mild irritant and should be avoided by those with sensitive skin. The daily use of a shampoo product containing four shampoo detergents may result in a net drying effect on the hair and scalp, especially for individuals with textured hair types, or black hair. Follow up each application of Nisim shampoo with a suitable moisturizing conditioner to counteract the drying effects of this shampoo.
