Jelly Belly Candy Corn Ingredients

Jelly Belly (formerly known as the Herman Goelitz Candy Company) has been in the candy business for more than 100 years. While the company is famous for its gourmet jelly bean flavors, candy corn is another popular seller available year-round. Candy corns are small, triangular confections made to resemble corn kernels. There are many brands of candy corn on the market, but slight variations in flavor, coloring and other ingredients differentiate Jelly Belly's offering from others.

Sugar

Sugar is the main component of Jelly Belly's candy corn product. Although this candy corn has no fat, its high sugar content means it includes a considerable amount of calories (more than 100) per serving. The sugar used to create Jelly Belly's candy corn is white sugar; the same type of sugar also is often used in other confection companies' recipes.

Corn Syrup

Modified Soy Protein

Beeswax

Beeswax is the final main ingredient of Jelly Belly's candy corn. Beeswax also is not a prominent component of the candy corn. It is used to coat the finished product, mainly for aesthetic purposes. The addition of beeswax to Jelly Belly's candy corn sets this brand apart from others that use gelatin to coat the candied kernels.
