What are 4 Wheelers Used For?
Four-wheelers, ATVs, or quads; no matter what name you choose to call them, call them versatile. There might be no other vehicle on the planet that has more practical applications than an ATV. They are used to do everything you could imagine, and probably a few things you never thought of.

At One With Nature
-
Tthose precious hiking and biking trails you enjoy exist because of ATVs. Most communities that maintain their trails use ATVs to do it. Park Rangers in virtually every installation in this great nation, have at least one ATV at their side. There are just too many places a Jeep cannot go that an ATV has no problem going.
Search and Rescue
-
Remote rescue is something that police and firefighters hate to hear. Because what it means is a possible long off-road hike, or a dangerous climb. Well, enter the ATV, as they have been used to rescue injured people many times around the world. When bad things happen in the woods, ATVs are there. They transport the wounded, tow out downed planes, pull out stuck cars or cover ground in searches for missing people.

Off-Road Wheelchair
-
Many disabled people use a 4-wheeler to enjoy nature. Modern ATVs offer a smooth ride. Suspension technology has gotten so good that a man with an injured back can comfortably ride into nature along designated trails. They have also become so stable, that a man or woman with waist down paralysis can easily learn to ride one. More and more handicapped people are using ATVs, and their numbers are growing on every trail in America.
Work Horse
-
There is probably not a farm or ranch in this country that does not have at least one ATV. In fact, at one point, Honda renamed one of their ATVs the "Rancher" because they were selling them by the millions to ranchers. More frequently, cattle ranchers use 4-wheelers to corral their herd. In many cases, they are cheaper and require less maintenance than a horse, and they are also easier to control. They can also be used to tow hay and feed to remote areas a tractor cannot get through. ATVs can also be fitted with any number of accessories from snow plows to front loaders. They can be used to pull or push lawn mowing attachments just like a tractor.
Fun Fun Fun
-
As practical as ATVs are, they are mostly used for off-road fun. When kept on designated trails, ATVs are relatively light on nature. When ridden with the proper training, correct equipment including helmet, goggles, gloves and boots, they are also relatively safe. They are a great way for families to spend time together, and for friends to bond. ATVs really are a vehicle with almost limitless applications. In fact, in some states you can make them street legal and drive them to work.
