National Telecommuting Institute, (NTI), a nonprofit organization, has assisted in placing disabled Americans in the work force for over a decade. The IRS contracts with NTIcentral.org to place workers directly. Workers can expect to take customer-service calls for IRS-form orders and publication orders. In addition, NTI also places workers as medical transcribers for Veterans Hospitals. All placements within NTI are telecommuting jobs. High-speed Internet, a corded telephone, a headset with a microphone and an up-to-date computer are required for such positions.
