Drinks Made With Vanilla Vodka
Many different types of alcoholic drinks are made with vanilla vodka. Vodka is a clear type of alcohol that is made from potatoes, rice or corn. Russia, Sweden and Poland all claim to be the country of origin for vodka. The word "vodka" is a variation of the Russian word for "water." Flavored vodkas other than vanilla include blueberry, green apple mint and watermelon, just to name a few. Sometimes vanilla vodka is mixed with flavors of various fruits within a cocktail. To make a Creamsicle Screwdriver mix 2 ounces of vanilla vodka with approximately 4 to 6 ounces of orange juice. A Black Pearls recipe calls for equal parts vanilla vodka, raspberry liqueur and black sambuca in a shot glass. In order to make a Key Lime Martini, mix 2 ounces of vanilla vodka with 1 ounce of melon liqueur, 1 ounce of pineapple juice and a splash each of half and half and sweet and sour mix.

Vanilla vodka is often mixed with the taste of chocolate for various drinks. A Milky Way Martini combines 2 ounces of vanilla vodka, 1 ounce of Irish cream and 2 ounces of chocolate liqueur. For a Chocolate Cake Martini, the ingredients are 1 tablespoon sweetened cocoa powder, two lemon twists, 1/2 ounce of Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, 3 ounces of creme de cacao and 3 ounces of vanilla vodka. Shake the vodka, creme de cacao and Frangelico vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice in it. Moisten and dip the rims of two chilled cocktail glasses in cocoa powder. Strain into two cocktail glasses and add the lemons twists before serving.

Coffee lovers often enjoy cocktails made from vanilla vodka and various coffee liqueurs. For example, combine 1 ounce of vanilla vodka with 1/2 ounce of Kahlua coffee liqueur and 1/2 ounce of creme de cacao in order to make a Deep Dark Love beverage. After mixing the ingredients and pouring them into a cocktail glass, garnish the mixture with a few whole coffee beans.

A Ca-Boom Cocktail is a simple recipe in which you combine 2 ounces of vanilla vodka with 8 ounces of lime flavored Coca-Cola, shake and serve. You also can make another variation of the Creamsicle cocktail by mixing 6 ounces of orange soda with 2 ounces of vanilla vodka. A Chewbaca recipe calls for equal parts 7-Up soda, Tuaca citrus liqueur and orange soda combined with a splash of orange juice and vanilla vodka.

Vanilla vodka can be combined with flavors such as cinnamon, butterscotch and amaretto for tasty drink creations. Combine 1/2 ounce of Aftershock Hot and Cool cinnamon schnapps, 1 1/2 ounces of vanilla vodka and 1 ounce of toffee liqueur in order to make a Carrot Cake Martini. The White Cotton Panties shot is made from 1/2 ounce of vanilla vodka and 1/2 ounce of butterscotch schnapps.
