The Apple iPhone and the LG Voyager have quickly become two of the most popular touch-screen cell phones on the market. Like any other cell phone, both have their share of pros and cons. However, for the most part, they are both very good overall phones. The LG Voyager is an exclusive phone to the cell phone carrier Verizon Wireless. The Apple iPhone is an exclusive phone to the cell phone carrier AT&T Wireless.

      The iPhone and the LG Voyager look somewhat similar. Both have a full-feature touch screen as well as a chrome bezel surrounding the touch screen. The iPhone is made by the computer manufacturer Apple, which has been long known for creating visually appealing designs in its products. The Voyager cell phone is made by the electronics manufacturer LG. LG is also known for producing visually appealing consumer products.

    Features

    • The LG Voyager features a full touch screen as well as a built-in physical keyboard. This is a great advantage for the LG Voyager in terms of functionality. The iPhone has built in WIFI. The LG Voyager does not. This is a clear disadvantage for the Voyager. Having full Internet access via WIFI is a very good feature to have for people who uses the Internet a lot on their cell phone.

The third installment was the iPhone 3G, and most currently, the iPhone 3GS. The Verizon Voyager started out as the Verizon Voyager, and was later released as the Verizon Voyager Titanium Edition. Most recently, the Voyager has been completely renamed as the LG ENV Touch.

    • The iPhone currently runs on Apple's operating system Version 3.1. The LG Voyager currently runs on LG's default operating system, which is heavily modified by Verizon Wireless to incorporate their features and branding. If you take a look at Verizon's coverage map, you will notice that there is extensive voice and data coverage throughout the U.S. The iPhone is currently run on AT&T's Wireless network. If you take a look at the AT&T coverage map, you will notice that most of their coverage is only available in large cities. To have an iPhone, AT&T requires all users to have not only a standard cell phone plan, but an iPhone plan as well. The iPhone plan is currently $30 extra a month.

    Price Value

    • The iPhone is currently available in two basic models with different storage capacities. An 8GB iPhone 3G costs $99 with a two-year contract. A 16Gb iPhone 3GS is priced at $199 with a two-year contract and a 32GB iPhone 3GS is priced at $299 with a two-year contract. The LG ENV Touch is currently priced at $179.99 with a two-year contract. The ENV Touch is available in only one model. All prices are as of 2009.
