Dalacin is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth or killing the bacteria that is causing an infection. It treats serious infections caused by bacteria. Take Dalacin as prescribed by your doctor and for the period of time required in order to for it to be effective.

Less-common side effects include fever, sore throat and skin rash or unusual bleeding or bruising, itching of the genital and rectal areas and inflammation of the vagina. There may also be symptoms of a cough and peeling of large areas of the skin, along with yellow discoloration of the skin and the cornea (whites of the eyes). A rare side effect of Dalacin is severe, persistent or bloody diarrhea that may also be accompanied with fever and stomach pain. This rare side effect may occur even weeks after the treatment therapy has been completed.

Warning

Dalacin capsules contains lactose (a milk sugar). Do not take these capsules if you are lactose intolerant. Use an extra contraceptive method like condoms if you are taking a contraceptive pill while taking Dalacin since it might make the pill less effective. It is also recommended that this extra contraceptive be used at least a week after discontinuing Dalacin.
