Black onyx, better known simply as onyx, is a black crystal that sometimes develops patterns that make it resemble an eye. It is most often polished and has an opaque look.

    Geography

  1. Considered one of the most important healing stones by ancient peoples, onyx is found in Brazil, India, Mexico and in the United States.
  2. Significance

  3. Because of its tendency to look eye-like, the onyx is often used in healing eye disorders. It also works with the third eye and influences each of the chakras.
  4. Benefits

  5. Onyx helps to deflect negative energies. It has to be worn on the body for long periods of time for its full effects to be achieved. It helps in healing the skin, even with sunburns or psoriasis. Soak an onyx crystal in water for 12 hours and then use the water to cleanse the body wherever there are skin problems, several times a day.
  6. Effects

  7. Black onyx has been believed to be effective against black magic. It is used all around the world for its magical properties and has been found in the graves of Native Americans and ancient Greeks, showing how long it has been a part of the history of crystal healing and magic.
  8. Features

  9. Onyx is a crystal that can be used with other crystals to enhance their healing abilities. This is because it is part of the quartz family (which has that ability) and because of its color. Black absorbs all light, which is a spectrum of vibrations. Black onyx absorbs the vibrations emitted from the other crystals and makes them more powerful.
