Mixer Theme Ideas
Mixers, usually held by sororities but also useful for offices and other organizations, allow guests an opportunity to get to know each other in a fun and relaxed environment. Throwing a themed mixer makes the party even more fun.

Graffiti
-
Graffiti mixers give guests a chance to sign and write messages on each other. Light the room with black lights and give every guest a black light responsive highlighter. Guests walk around talking to one another and writing on one another. By the end of the night, guests will be glowing from head to toe with names and messages. You can even make it into a competition by seeing who can get the most skin covered in highlighter messages.
Cops and Robbers
-
Guests at the mixer are split up into pairs, which are then handcuffed to each other. The handcuffed pair will get to know each other really well, and having someone with you all night makes it easier to approach other people to get to know them because you don't have to do it alone. To make this mixer more fun have half of the guests show up dressed as cops and the other half show up dressed as robbers.

'80s Prom
-
Female guests can purchase a 1980s prom dress from a used clothing store, tease up their hair and apply a lot of bright make up. Male guests can wear suits with large shoulder pads and funky, printed ties. The ridiculous outfits will get the guests talking, and before you know it, everybody is learning about each other. You can even set up a photo area where the guests can get prom pictures taken for souvenirs.
Costume Party
-
Tell guests to come dressed in a costume that will tell other guests something about themselves. For example, someone might come dressed as a teacher to let other guests know that they want to teach, someone else might come dressed as a football player because they like to watch football. The guests can try to guess what others are dressed up as and what that says about them.
Doctors and Patients
-
Divide the guests so one half will be doctors and the other half will be patients. Give each patient an ailment, either mental or physical, and instruct them to act out their ailment as best they can throughout the course of the party. The doctors must walk around and try to figure out what all the patients are ailing from. The doctor who figures out the most patient ailments wins and the patient who fools the most doctors wins.
