A grant is a financial award given to a person that is typically not required to be paid back. Grants are available for women entrepreneurs wanting to start a business, expand a current business, invent a new product or any other venture. Although some grants do not have to be paid back, there are certain requirements and guidelines that an organization, person or corporation can mandate in order for the woman entrepreneur to receive the grant.

The Amber Grant for Women was established for women entrepreneurs that want to start their own businesses. The Amber Grant is a small grant that ranges between $500 and $1,000, because it is awarded with the intention of upgrading equipment, or paying a small utility or other small essential bill. This grant does not have to be repaid by the woman that receives it. The grant was established to help young women achieve their dreams, in the honor of a young woman named Amber who passed away and could not follow her own entrepreneurial dreams.
