Long Hair Styles for Brides
The perfect hairstyle for a bride adds a gentle elegance to her overall appearance. When considering styles for long hair, the options are limitless. From modern up-dos to traditional braids and curls, a bride's dream hairstyle is just a stylist away. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Up-Do
-
An up-do gathers the hair into either a ponytail or bun and accents it with curls. In a more modern style, hair is pinned into place after being curled into small ringlets to create a well-rounded style. Depending on a bride's facial and neck structure, ringlets can be left down to accent her most flattering features.
Half Up-Do
-
In this style, half of the hair is either banded or pinned in place with curls, and the other half is left down. The half that remains is typically curled using a large barrel curling iron. The curls may be further accented using shine and curling sprays to bring out the hair's natural shimmer.
-
Pulled Back
-
Creatively placed strands are pulled away from the face in this hairstyle. Use pins and barrettes to create an elegant design with the pulled-back pieces. Then curl the hair. Sometimes the top layers will be curled using a smaller barreled iron to create body and distinction.
Braid
-
The most traditional and many times neglected hairstyle, the braid is exceptional for the bride with long and thick hair. Create braids in the shape of a crown, or formed into strands and allowed to run down the bride's back. In a more modern style, braids will be placed down the sides to form a half-crown and then the remaining hair is curled and left down.
Accents
-
Nothing creates extinction with a long hairstyle better than accents. Add natural flowers, butterflies, dragon flies, combs, jewels or barrettes to the style for an extra eye-catching appearance. If you are having a nature-themed wedding, consider finding something from that theme to complement this hairstyle.
