Prada Phone Vs. iPhone
There are few phones on the market that can compete with the iPhone's functionality, elegance and popularity. Since its inception, the iPhone has transformed the smartphone market and set the bar higher for American cell phones. The LG Prada is a bit older than the current generation of the iPhone but offers similar features in a very elegant, fashion-inspired package. Even though the newest Prada phone, the Prada II, features a full, slide-out keyboard, it still may not live up to the features offered by the current iPhone, the 3GS.

LG KF900 Prada
-
The LGKF900, or known by its more popular name, the Prada II, is the second version of this phone. The first version included many great features but failed to satisfy when Apple's first iPhone was released. The Prada II, released in December 2008, included many features to compete with the iPhone, such as Wi-fi, a 5-megapixel camera, slide-out keyboard, and an FM radio. It also features expandable memory, a video recorder and a full multimedia audio/video player.
IPhone 3GS
-
Apple's iPhone 3GS, the latest and greatest iPhone, is an improvement upon their previous model, the iPhone 3G. It has double the internal RAM and a faster processor which speeds up the device considerably. Like its predecessors, it is available in a few different models, each containing 16 or 32 gigabytes of memory. The battery is nonremovable, as is the memory. The 3GS features include a GPS radio, full iPod functionality, integration with iTunes, Wi-fi, 3G data, a video recorder and expandable applications via Apple's App Store.

Comparison and benefits
-
A side-by-side comparison of the iPhone and LG's Prada reveal small differences. The iPhone trumps the Prada in a few ways: The Prada has a smaller display, is noticeably thicker and lacks GPS functionality. The iPhone also has more internal RAM and a faster processor, thereby boosting its computing power in multimedia applications. The Prada, however, still has its advantages. Unlike the iPhone's non-removable battery and memory (the source of many complaints), the Prada has micro-SD capability and a replaceable battery. It also has a 5-megapixel camera where the iPhone's camera has 3 megapixels. Perhaps its biggest coup over the iPhone, however, is the inclusion of a full, QWERTY slide-out keyboard.
Price
-
An unlocked Prada II, as of 2009, is cheaper than the iPhone 3GS, going for between $350 and $500 on the Internet. An iPhone 3GS (without an AT&T contract) goes for between $500 and $700. With a 2-year contract, the prices start at $199. The Prada II is not available through any U.S. carriers, therefore it must be purchased at full price, without a contract.
Considerations
-
The price, slide-out keyboard, and the Prada name are perhaps the biggest reasons to choose the Prada over the iPhone. If you're looking for a phone with the latest technology, like GPS, the iPhone is the obvious choice. Not only is it smaller than the Prada, but the touchscreen is larger. If you need the best camera, the Prada makes sense because of it's LED flash and larger megapixel count.
