Monistat is meant for use on the vagina only and should never be used near the eyes, mouth or nose. If you get the medication in your eyes for any reason, flush them with cool water immediately. If symptoms do not improve or worsen within three days, contact your local physician for an adjusted treatment method. Never use tampons, sanitary pads, or douches while using this medication.

Always use Monistat in conjunction with your doctor's orders and never in dosages that exceed what has been recommended on the label. This medication is administered in cream form through an applicator that should be placed into the vagina directly before going to bed. After inserting the applicator and releasing the medication, take it out and immediately throw it away. Only one dose of the medication is required for treatment and improved symptoms.
